Rajit Punshi

The Founder & Managing Principal, Rajit Punshi, has had extensive practical experience in operational risk for more than 14 years, out of a financial services career spanning over 23 years. As Global Head of Operational Risk Policy, Process and Regulation at Standard Chartered Bank, he was closely involved in operational risk policy development with some of the globe’s leading industry regulators (including the FSA) and associations (IIF, Singapore Bankers Association). Rajit is currently involved in the industry review of Operational risk at a global level.

He was a Board member of the Operational Risk Exchange (ORX), the largest data consortium and association for operational risk globally, and is currently their Asia representative.

The establishment of ORP is part of Rajit’s continued efforts to broaden industry awareness and understanding of operational risk and process excellence by creating a melting pot of concepts, practices and learning for financial institutions to ensure the sustainability of their growth objectives and optimize their competitive advantage.

Venkat Iyer

The Leader of the Financial Services and Transformation Practice, Venkat Iyer, has had extensive experience in managing a range of Businesses and functions in Financial Institutions across Asia and the Emerging Markets. In his over 25 year Career with Citibank including ten as a Managing Director, Venkat has headed the Private Bank and the Retail Asset Business and was the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) for Global Markets & Investment Banking banking vehicle in Japan. He also led projects managing acquisitions, divestitures and restructuring of large businesses.

As the CAO for the Asia Technology and Operations he led the Regional Network of Processing centers housing over 20,000 staff and was Site Head for a State-of-art Hub Technology Hub in Singapore and multi-product Operations Hub in Malaysia covering AML, Anti-Fraud and Corporate and Consumer operations.

He was a Director on the Board of Citibank Japan Limited and Citigroup Transaction Services Sdn Bhd. He had started his career as a consultant with “Big Four” firm specializing in Financial, Systems and Organizational design consulting and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

The establishment of the Transformation practice is part of Venkat’s effort to broaden ORP’s consulting offering for Financial Services in the Technology and Operations domain and  a range of Businesses including Retail, Transaction Services, Private Banking and Markets.   He is also involved in advising start-ups especially in the Fintech space.
